Are antidepressants the best way to treat depression?
Unfortunately, when many people struggle with depression, they try to seek out the best anti depression drugs they can find. This is terribly misguided, because taking antidepressants is one of the worst things you could do to stop being depressed.
Think about it: the most powerful ingredient in any antidepressant is your belief that it will work. This is known as the placebo effect, which is well documented in every drug trial ever conducted. So antidepressants simply aren’t very effective.
