In this video you’re going to learn the first and most important step for thinking more positively. As a teaching tool I am using the Positive Thinking Tool. Now let’s get started.
The first and most important step for thinking more positively is to want to improve your thinking and think more positively.
The reason for this is that if you want to change your thinking, your mind will be on board to help you, but if you really don’t want to change your thinking, it’s going to be really hard if not impossible for you to change your thoughts.
Here’s a bonus tip: the more specific you are about what you want to change your thinking about the easier it will be for you to focus your thoughts and attention.
So for example, you might say I want to think more positively about my relationship with my wife, my job, a fight I had with my best friend, or whatever it is that you want to improve your thinking about.
For our purposes we’re going to keep it simple in this example and say I want to think more positively about my life.
Now “in order to” is important because positive thinking is a useful way of thinking that has a purpose, so the more you know the purpose of improving your thinking, the more your mind will cooperate with you and help you change your thinking.
You can say anything here, but for our purposes we’re going to say in order to be happier, more confident, and more successful.
Once you have these pieces in place, you have completed the first and most important step for thinking more positively.
